Dr. Clifton Pannell (Program Director)
Dr. Pannell is emeritus professor of geography at the University of Georgia and former associate dean in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Pannell holds the PhD from the University of Chicago. His research interests are in the economic, urban and political geography of China and East Asia. Krista Forgren
Ms. Forgren is an Educational Consultant and Specialist in East Asian Language, History and Culture. She works with the Windows on Asia program in the Atlanta School Systems. Dr. Rongbin Han
Dr. Han is assistant professor in the School of International and Public Affairs at the University of Georgia. Dr. Han holds the PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. His area of research and scholarship is focused on China’s politics and political system as well as the comparative political systems of East Asia. Dr. Kendall Marchman
Dr. Marchman is an Assistant Professor of Religion at the University of Georgia. Dr. Farley Richmond (Program Assistant)
Dr. Richmond is professor and former head of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Georgia. His PhD is from Michigan State University. Professor Richmond’s specialties and research interests are in Asian theatre with emphasis on Indian drama and theatre. Dr. Michael Krolak
Dr. Krolak is a Humanities Teacher at the Suzhou Singapore International School as well as a former student in a Freeman Foundation East Asian Seminar. He has the unique background of being successful in business and, for the last 16 years, as an educator. Dr. Ari Levine
Dr. Levine is an Associate Professor of History, Chinese history and philosophy at UGA. He specializes in the cultural and intellectual history of early modern China, and teaches a broad range of courses in Chinese, East Asian, and world history. Dr. Masaki Mori
Dr. Mori is an Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Georgia. His main research interest is in modern Japanese literature, as well as in the epic, Romanticism, and Asian-American literature. In addition, he is a board member of the Southern Comparative Literature Association and the Assistant Director of the Japanese Program at UGA. Dr. Hyangsoon Yi
Dr. Yi is a Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Georgia. Her speciaties include Korean literature and film, modern Irish drama, and Buddhism and arts. Her research interests include Irish drama, Irish and Scottish Travelers, nomadism, narrative theory, Korean literature and cinema, Japanese cinema, and Buddhism. |
