Dr. Clifton Pannell (Program Director)
Dr. Pannell is emeritus professor of geography at the University of Georgia and former associate dean in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Pannell holds the PhD from the University of Chicago. His research interests are in the economic, urban and political geography of China and East Asia. Dr. Rongbin Han
Dr. Han is assistant professor in the School of International and Public Affairs at the University of Georgia. Dr. Han holds the PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. His area of research and scholarship is focused on China’s politics and political system as well as the comparative political systems of East Asia. Qianru Li
Ms. Li is a doctoral student in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Georgia. She holds a MA from the Shanghai Theatre Academy and was a lecturer in the Dramatic Literature department at the Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology in China. Dr. William Power
Dr. Power is an Emeritus Professor of Religion at UGA, and focuses on East Asian religious systems and traditions. He has published in the fields of historical theology, systematic and philosophical theology, and philosophy of religion, and his works have appeared in monograph form, as chapters in books, and journal articles. Dr. Joshua Van Lieu
Dr. Van Lieu is assistant professor of history and curriculum director of the Asian Studies Program at LaGrange College. He holds the PhD in history from the University of Washington. Dr. Van Lieu specializes in the history of Korea with secondary interests in China and northeast Asia. Dr. Farley Richmond (Program Assistant)
Dr. Richmond is professor and former head of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Georgia. His PhD is from Michigan State University. Professor Richmond’s specialties and research interests are in Asian theatre with emphasis on Indian drama and theatre. Dr. Ari Levine
Dr. Levine is an Associate Professor of History, Chinese history and philosophy at UGA. He specializes in the cultural and intellectual history of early modern China, and teaches a broad range of courses in Chinese, East Asian, and world history. Dr. Sylvia Pannell
Dr. Pannell is professor emerita of drama and theatre. She holds the MFA degree from the Florida State University and was formerly head of the design section in the Theatre and Films Studies Department at UGA. Her research interests are in costume design and western and Asian theatre. Dr. Yuanfei Wang
Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature with a focus on Chinese language and literature. She specializes in late imperial Chinese fiction, drama, and the transnational history of late imperial China (1550-1750). |
